Community Helping Place

Donations

Donations CHP Programs are specifically designed to provide assistance to residents in need in Lumpkin County. During our extensive interview process with each client, we determine the financial strength of the household to determine which program or combination of programs will best meet their current needs. Clients must provide verifiable employment history, proof of residency, income, and custody of children. CHP makes every effort to collaborate with other assistance agencies such as DFACS, the Health Department, Head Start, Family Connections, Red Cross, NOA, and Rainbow Children’s Home to ensure our clients are availing themselves of possible resources, as well as taking referrals from those agencies when specific needs arise such as the need for food and clothing.

Other than the $15,000.00 received from United Way in 2005, CHP relies on donations and the income generated from our Thrift Store sales to maintain our operations and fund our programs. The rent and utilities alone to operate CHP are $30,000.00 annually. We do not currently receive any financial or in-kind assistance from the City, County, State or Federal Government.
